~~The Rams were back at it this morning competing in their annual Niles West quad! The Rams went 1-2, defeating Niles West 48-18, but falling to Rolling Meadows & Mundeline. The Rams were down four starters today but held their own! Three match winners included Kevin McDonald 113, Rene Sanchez 120, & Jimmy McAuliffe 138! The Rams will take on conference rivals Shepard & Hillcrest Friday night!
~~The Rams took the long trip out to Lansing for their SSC quad. The Rams defeated Richards 45-23, Bremen 24-15, & TFS 45-32. The Rams are now 9-1 (6-0) thus far this season! Jimmy McAuliffe lead the way with three pins but the biggest win of the night cam from Mike Foster... With a fall to seal the dual against TFS. Also undefeated on the night, Kevin McDonald, Rene Sanchez, Yazen Almousa, & Suleiman Qwasini. No time for rest as the Rams travel to Niles West for another quad tomorrow morning!
~~The Rams battled their way to a 4th place finish at the 12 team Dave Anderson Invitational @ Stagg H.S. today! Leading the way for the Rams included Kevin Mcdonald 3rd, Rene Sanchez 3rd, Ali Jafar 2nd, Dan Stringham 3rd, Suleiman Qwasini 5th, & Jimmy McAuliffe 1st place! This team has bought in and continues to exceed expectations! Still more work to do, but all wrestlers are moving in the right direction! This a special team!
~~The Rams strapped up for conference action tonight, as they hosted Lemont, Tinley Park, & Eisenhower high school. Once again the Rams brought intensity and heart to a tough quad as they went 3-0 & improved their record to 6-1 (3-0). Lemont dual 36-27, Eisenhower 48-0, Tinley Park 43-26! Great effort up and down the line up... Rams will travel to Stagg to compete in the Dave Anderson Invitational on Saturday!
~~The Rams competed in the Bradley Mega dual this weekend and improved to 3-1 on the season. The Rams defeated Joliet Central 40-34 before falling to Naperville North. Big wins were turned in by Rene Sanchez 120, Ali Jafar 132, Jimmy McAulliff 138, Mike Foster 152, & Matt Beach 220. The Rams will open up their conference season Thursday 12/3 when they host Lemont, Tinley Park, & Eisenhower!
~~The Rams kicked off their 2015-2016 campaign with their annual Stagg & Willowbrook Triangular last night. The Rams showed great heart and resiliency as they etched out two close victories to improve to 2-0. The Rams defeated Stagg 33-31 & Willowbrook 39-36. Two match winners on the night included Kevin McDonald 113, Rene Sanchez 120-126, Jimmy McAuliffe 138, & Matt Beach 220.
The Little Rams are hosting early registration for the upcoming season on Tuesday Oct. 20th @ Reavis H.S. from 6-8pm. The registration will be held outside the main gymnasium. If you have questions or concerns please contact Coach Manning @ cmanning@d220.org
The varsity wrestling team competed in a tough Regional Tournament this past Saturday, hosted by Morton H.S. In the end, three Reavis wrestlers earned the right to go on to sectionals next week by placing in the top three at their respected weight class. Kevin McDonald (106) & Jimmy McAuliffe (132) were both Regional champions! McDonald battled through a tough semi-final match after falling behind late in the 3rd. In the finals, Kevin was dominate and in control virtually the entire match. McAuliffe had to overcome a four point deficit to start the third period. However, with two
The wrestling team capped off it's dual meet season last night hosting Oak Forest & Evergreen Park for its annual Senior Night. While the Rams honored five seniors they fell to the state ranked Bengals of O.F. but defeated Evergreen Park on both the JV and varsity levels. The Rams finished their regualr season with a record of 16-7. In addition, the Freshmen wrestling team went 2-0 on the evening overcoming five forfeits to defeat O.F.
