Glenbard West Tournament

The varsity Rams competed in their second tournament of the season this past Saturday.  The Rams had a good showing placing 4th as a team.  The lone champion for the Rams was Tino Abarca at (106).  Other finalist included Moe Sbitan (113) and Sam Almousa (138) who both battled tough opponents in the finals.  Other placers included Jesus Vasqeuz 3rd (120), Kyle Galason 3rd (126), Moe Razek 3rd (160), Teddy Piwnicki 5th (182), Niko Garcia 5th (220), and Jakub Kacki 3rd (285).  The Rams will have take on their biggest conference rivals this Thursday at Oak Lawn H.S.

E.P. & O.F. Tri

The Varsity Rams returned to SSC wrestling last night.  The Rams were out matched by a tough Oak Forest team but rallied to defeat Evergreen Park 39-9.  The Rams were lead by Jesus Vasquez (126) and Niko Garcia (220) who both went 2-0 on the night.  Kyle Galason (132) and Sam Almousa (145) were also both victorious in their only bout of the night.  The Rams are now 13-4 (6-1) and will compete in the Glenbard West Invite this Saturday.

Rams go 2-0

The varsity wrestling team kicked off the 2nd half of their season with two quality wins over Homewood Floss moor and Lincoln Way North on Saturday Jan. 4th, 2014.  Both wins took a total team effort, which is starting to become the norm for the Rams.  Tino Abarca got things rolling with a quality win over Alec Campos of H.F.  From there Kevin McDonald dominated his opponent at 113 and Moe Sbitan emerged victorious once again, bumping up a weight class.  But the true highlight was turned in by HWT.

Andrew Dual

The Rams traveled to Tinley Park to take on the Andrew Thunderbolts after a 14 day break from competition.  The Rams were able to shake off the rust and pull out a victory in the last match, defeating Andrew 36-33.  The Rams got off to a hot start with Falls from Moe Sbitan, Jesus Vasquez, Sam Almousa, and Kevin McDonald.  Other winners included Kyle Galason and Rene Sanchez who won the final match to clinch the win.  However, great efforts were turned in from Moe Razek, Teddy Pinwicki, and Jakub Kacki who all lost close matches.  The Rams will travel to Lincoln Way North tomorrow to take o

Senior Night Comes Early For Rams

The varsity Rams didn't start their Christmas break early... as they defeated Hillcrest 57-6 and Shepard 45-15. The Rams took care of business on their annual Senior Night. Two match winners included Tino Abarca 106, Kevin McDonald (113), Jesus Vasquez (126), Drew Mosacto (138), Sam Almousa (145), Emilio Miranda (152), and Moe Razek (160). Other winners for the Rams included Moe Sbitan (120) 1-0, Rene Sanchez (120) 1-0, Armando Robles, Niko Garcia, and Alejandro Marmalejo. The Rams were relentless in both dual meets and are looking forwarded to some stiff competition in January.

Niles West Quad

The varsity and J.V. wrestling team traveled to Niles West this Saturday to compete in their annual Quad.  The varsity Rams capped off a great week going 2-1 at the Quad.  The Rams started their day with a huge comeback over N.W.

Dave Anderson Invite @ Stagg H.S.

Palos Hills, IL (December 7, 2013) - The Rams continued to wrestle with intensity and effort yesterday at the Dave Anderson Invitational @ Stagg High school. The Rams had four finalist... Tino Abarca 106, Moe Sbittan 113, Jesus Vasquez 120, and Sam Almousa at 138. Tino and Moe emerged victorious and were crowned tournament champions. Jesus and Sam had extremely close matches that could have gone either way. Other placers included Kyle Galason 3rd and Jakub Kacki 6th. The Rams will open up their conference season this Thursday against Richards, T.F.S., and Bremen.

Rams Battle at Bradley

Your varsity Rams traveled south to Bradley H.S. on this holiday weekend to take on Bloom and Bradley H.S.  The Rams showed great effort in both duals; defeating Bloom and falling to Bradley. Two match winners included 106 Tino Abarca, 113 Kevin McDonald, 120 Moe Sbitan, 145 Sam Almousa, and 195 Teddy Piwnicki.  Other winners and huge contributors included 120 Rene Sanches, 138 Drew Moscato, and 220 Armando Robles.  The Rams are currently 2-2 and will compete at the Dave Anderson Stagg Invational on Saturday, Dec. 7th.
