Rams Split at Bradley

. The Rams competed in the Bradley mega duals on Saturday. After falling to Bradley 39-24 they rallied once again to defeat a tough Bloom team 34-33. The Rams are young in experience but have shown great heart and toughness thus far this season.  Two match winners included Sr. Cody Dybalski, Jr. Emilio Miranda, and Sr. Niko Garcia.  They will begin their conference season Thursday when they take on Lemont, Tinley Park, & Eisenhower.
 

Stagg & Willowbrook Tri

The varsity Rams began their 2014-2015 season last night by hosting the Willowbrook Warriors and Stagg Chargers.  The Rams split the tri falling to Willowbrook (40-33) in the first dual of the night.  However, the Rams showed great heart and resiliency by coming back and defeating Stagg (40-27).  The Rams brought great intensity to both duals.  Standouts included freshmen Yaya Almousa who had two falls on the night and Senior Teddy Piwnicki who also had two wins/one fall.  More importantly, Piwnicki closed the door on the Chargers with a first period pin that clinched the dual meet for the

McAuliffe Earnes All-American Status

Sophomore Jimmy McAuliffe traveled to Iowa this past weekend, to compete in the Pre-Season National Tournament.   Jimmy competed at 138lbs. and in the end earned a spot on the podium.  Jimmy wrestled 7 matches winning 5 of them, and nearly upsetting the number one seed in the quarter-finals.   Congratulations to Jimmy McAuliffe on his 7th place finish at Pre-Season Nationals.

Little Rams Wrestling

The Reavis Wrestling Program is proud to announce the inaugural season of the Little Rams Wrestling Program.  The Little Rams Wrestling program will provide children ages 5-14 the opportunity to get involved in the great sport of wrestling right here in Burbank, IL.  The team will be run out of Reavis H.S. and with the full support of the Reavis wrestling program.  Please see the attached registration flyer on the Reavis wrestling home page for further details.

IHSA Regional

The varsity wrestling team competed in the nine team Lyons Township IHSA Regional Tournament this past Saturday.  The Rams advanced four individuals; Tino Abarca (106) 3rd, Kyle Galason (126) 3rd, Jesus Vasquez (120) 1st, and Sam Almousa (138) 1st.  This is Jesus Vasquez's second consecutive regional championship and the first for Sam Almousa.  The Rams will travel to Hinsdale Central this Friday & Saturday to compete in the toughest IHSA Sectional  Tournament in the state.  Top four placers at each weight will advance to the state tournament.
 

South Suburban Conference Tournament

The varsity wrestling team, fresh off their dual meet conference championship competed in the 14 team South Suburban Conference Tournament. Once again the Rams battled from start to finish. The effort up and down the line up was extraordinary. At the end of the day the Rams finished in 2nd place as a team and had five all-conference wrestlers. Tino Abarca (106) 2nd, Moe Sbitan (113) 2nd, Jesus Vasquez (120) 2nd, Jakub Kacki (285) 2nd, and Sam Almousa (138) finished atop the podium as a conference champion.

2014 SSC RED CHAMPS

The varsity wrestling team capped off a great regular season last night by defeating Lemont 40-27, Eisenhower 57-19, and Tinley Park 43-19. In doing so, the Rams finished their dual meet season with an overall record of 19-4 and 12-1 in conference; good enough to win the South Suburban Red Conference Championship! The Rams were tested by all three teams but were led by Kevin McDonald, Moe Sbitan, Jesus Vasquez, Suleiman Qwaisni, Niko Garcia and Jakub Kacki... all six wrestlers were undefeated on the night.

Illini Classic Invite

The Rams competed in one of the toughest tournaments in the state this past weekend, but Reavis managed to put four wrestlers on the podium... Tino Abarca placed 2nd, Moe Sbitan, placed 6th, Kyle Galson placed 4th, and Sam Almousa placed 3rd. The Rams will close out their dual meet season this Wednesday when they take on Tinley Park H.S., Lemont, and Eisenhower.

Rams Dominate Conference Rivals

The varsity Rams swept their SSC conference quad last night in dominating fashion. The Rams entered last night competition in first place in the SSC Red division. Knowing they had a target on their back, the Rams rose to the occasion and ended the night 3-0 defeating T.F.N. 63-9, Argo 52-15, and Oak Lawn 48-18. It took a complete team effort to dominate our biggest rivals but were led by Tino Abarca, Kevin McDonald, Moe Sbitan, Rene Sanchez, Kyle Galason, Drew Moscato, Sam Almousa, Suleiman Qwaisni, Niko Garcia, and Jakub Kacki... all of whitch went undefeated on the evening!
