Rams win season opener against T-Birds

Burbank, IL (March 17, 2011) - The Reavis baseball team won their season-opener against the Thornwood T-Birds 12-2 in six innings this afternoon at Czarnecki Field 

Senior pitcher Garret Rhodes picked up the victory on the mound, going four innings, striking out nine, and allowing one earned run on three hits.  Brandon Hines threw well in relief, allowing one earned run and striking out three in two innings of work.

#44 Ryan Flood

This is Flood's seventh season with the Rams.  A 2001 graduate of Reavis, Flood played football, basketball, and baseball for the Rams.  He had a great high school baseball career that included two conference championships and all-conference honors in 2001.  The Burbank native then attended Benedictine University in Lisle, where he majored in math–education and lettered in baseball for four years.  Flood also holds a Master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University.

Flood to join baseball staff

The Reavis athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Flood to the baseball staff.  Flood, a 2001 graduate of Reavis, played football, basketball, and baseball for the Rams.  He had a great high school baseball career that included two conference championships and all-conference honors in 2001.

Two Rams Sign National Letters of Intent

Burbank, IL (November 16, 2010) - Last Wednesday two Reavis athletes, Rob Rabakozi and Caitlyn Balandis, signed their National Collegiate Letter of Intent.  Rabakozi has committed to Valparaiso University, where he will be playing baseball and Balandis will be playing softball for the University of St. Francis.  Both athletes received full scholarships to their respective schools.

#27 Erik Scheiner

Scheiner, who works with many of the pitchers at Reavis, will enter his seventh season as head sophomore coach. Erik joined the Ram staff in 2004 and continues to pitch in several men's leagues during the summer and fall months. A graduate of Stagg High School, Erik starred for the Chargers varsity squad in 1997 and 1998, before continuing his baseball career at Chicago State University. Besides his BA from CSU, Scheiner has MA degrees from Governor's State University and University of St. Francis.

#22 Bob Morack

After serving ten seasons as the head sophomore coach, Morack will be in his seventh year with the Varsity.  Morack recently stepped down from his position as head coach of the boys soccer team when he was promoted to athletic director.  During his successful run in soccer, Bob won the Reavis Coach of the Year Award five times (2006, 2009, 2012, 2016, and 2017). Besides being a two-year starting varsity catcher at Reavis (1995-96), Morack also played on the District 15 Big League team that won the National Championship and finished second in the world to Taiwan in 1996.

#10 Dick Canan

Canan, who began coaching the varsity Rams in 1997, has been part of the last six conference championships. A Burbank native, Canan played Burbank National Little League before starring for Coach Czarnecki's Rams in the early 1980's. In 1982, he was named all-conference shortstop for Reavis, and then played stints with Southeast Missouri State and Moraine Valley Community College before earning a baseball scholarship with the University of Illinois.

#27 Don Erickson

Coach Erickson is entering his 25th full season as the skipper of the Rams. In his tenure, the Reavis baseball program has garnered 450 wins, six conference titles and two regional crowns. Erickson, who was inducted into the IHSBCA Hall of Fame in 2016, is a three-time winner of the Reavis Coach of the Year Award (1997, 1998, 2008) and a two-time winner of the SICA Coach of the Year Award (2002 & 2005).
