Girls Sprints help get Rams a 2nd place quad finish

Summit, IL  (March 20, 2015).  The girls did a great job Friday at Argo’s indoor quad.  We finished an impressive 2nd place, just missing 1st place Argo by 18 points.  More INCREDIBLE, the sprint 4x160 relay team of Sylvia Kozielski, Auset Kheru, Alex Malmborg, and Cici Galvan WON their relay, as well as the 4x400m relay team of Lili Tinoco, Breana Jones, Sylvia Kozielski, and Alex Malmborg.  SO AWESOME!  Sylvia Kozielski won the long jump and the triple jump.  Auset Kheru won the high jump, while Aleks Kamienska won the shot put.  Stephanie Majewski got 2nd in the 3200, Ta

Gal All-State in Shot Put

May 17, 2014  (Charleston, IL).     Senior Paulina Gal qualified to the IHSA State meet in the 300m hurdles, discus, and the shot put.  She did a great job balancing three events in the prelims with little rest in between her events.  She did make it to the finals in the shot put, and finished 6th overall.  Paulina Gal is All-State in the Shot Put with a 6th place finish with a personal best throw of 43-01/4 .

Willow Springs, IL  (May 16,, 2014).  The Girls Track and Field team finished an amazing 4th place at the IHSA Sectional meet at Lyons.  Paulina Gal amazed everyone by qualifying in THREE events.  She finished 1st in the shot put, 1st in the discus, and 2nd in the 300m hurdles.  This is unheard of in track and field.  Mackenzie Mellenthin qualified in the discus by finishing 2nd place.  Both girls qualified for the second year in a row.  There were other point scorers for the Rams.  Alex Kamienska finished 5th in the shot put.  Amanda Kass finis

Girls Track and Field 3rd at the SSC Red Conference meet

Blue Island, IL  (May 12, 2014).  The Varsity team finished 3rd overall at the SSC Red Conference meet held at Eisenhower, while the Frosh/Soph team finished 4th overall.  Senior Paulina Gal had an outstanding night, as she won and earned All-Conference in three individual event.  She threw new SSC Red meet records in the discus and shot put, with 129-2.5 and 40-3 respectfully.  Paulina then came back and won the 800m, giving her the 3rd All-Conference victory.  She had a great race in the 300m hurdle race, earning a 3rd place finish.  Amanda Kass and Kate Mendoza finished

Team finishes 3rd place at Reavis Relays

Burbank, IL  (May 1, 2014).. Thursday night was cold and rainy, but it did not stop the Rams, who finished 3rd place home at Reavis Relays. Despite the weather, the meet was a ton of fun, and the girls did a great job! Relay champions were the shot put relay team of Paulina Gal, Mackenzie Mellenthin, and Aleksandra Kamienska and the discus relay team of Paulina Gal, Mackenzie Mellenthin, and Julie Iazzetto. The 3x100m hurdle relay team of Olivia Olivio, Kate Mendoza, and Tara Rojas finished a strong 2nd place.

Girls Track and Field finish 11-0 for the regular season

Burbank, IL  (April 29, 2014).  The girls finished off their regular season with 3 more victories.  They finish 11-0 for the year.  It was a total team effort.  Senior Paulina Gal had another great meet, with first places in the shot put, discus, and the 300m hurdles and second place in the long jump.  Paulina continues to impress as she again shook the Reavis record board, beating her own record with a time of :47.4.  The 4x800m relay team of Sabina Bukowska, Yoyo Olivares, Jenny Vasquez, and Paulina Marusarz won, with a season best time.  The 3200m run had a clean sweep a

Bremen Invite successful for team with lots of personal bests

Midlothian, IL  (April 26, 2014).  The girls again finished well as a team, as they finished 5th overall out of 13 teams at the Bremen Invite.  Senior Paulina Gal was on fire Saturday!  She won the discus with another personal best throw of 132 feet and 6 inches.  Earlier this week she broke the Reavis school record in the discus, but with this personal best throw, she broke her own record.  She then won the shot put, and followed that up with a personal best record time in the 800m where she finished first.  She settled with second place in the 300m hurdles late
